Style Personality: Chic
The way we dress says a lot about who we are. We can communicate so much without saying a word, simply by what we choose to put on our bodies at any given time.
This topic has intrigued me for as long as I can remember, both the kind of personal style that I want to create and the way others express themselves.
Personal style is a key role in the tapestry of self-expression. Our clothes, accessories, and overall appearance are not just about fashion, they tell a story about who we are, what we value, and how we see the world. Note: I believe style and fashion are not one in the same. Fashion tends to address trends and time-specific designs. Style extends beyond both.
When it comes to what you wear and how you wear it, your essence comes through and communicates on your behalf, even if you’re not trying to communicate anything specifically.
I mapped out how different traits and characteristics come through via six specific style personalities:
Casual
Chic
Edgy
Low Key
Quirky
Trendsetter
Today, we’re going to focus specifically on the traits of those who have a chic style.
People who have a chic style have that ability to blend current fashion trends with classic pieces, creating a look that is both contemporary and timeless.
Being chic isn't just a style choice, it's a lifestyle. The way they compose themselves is alluring; they exude confidence and elegance, traits that people try to have but not all are able to achieve it.
Chic peeps appreciate items of quality and are much less concerned with the amount of clothes and accessories they have. Accessorizing, for them, isn't about doing the most but about accentuating what they know is already a fire look. Talk about understated elegance, honey!
Even if it's more of a public-facing energy, a persona, people usually associate them with having their shit together. Nary a hair out of place. Brows? Tweezed. Skincare routine? On lock. No one can say shit about the impeccable grooming.
Their attention to detail is impressive. This isn't necessarily in all aspects of life, but in places where it really matters to them. When they put their skill and energy into things, they're going to be refined and well-coordinated in the most effortless way.
All that said, personal style empowers us, connects us with others, and adapts as we grow. It’s a vital form of self-expression that reflects our individuality, values, and creativity.
