A Love Note
Dear my love,
I hope this letter finds you well. You might have stumbled upon this or sought it out, either way, I’m glad you’re here. Now that I have your attention, I want you to close your eyes and take a deep breath. Use this breath as if the exhale is blowing the dust off of your old favorite bike. Or like you’re blowing a dandelion on the playground as a kid. Ready?

Beautiful. Now, regardless of what’s currently going on in the world, in your town, in your friend group, in your everyday life, let this love note drown out the noise of whatever may be nagging at your eardrums, even if just for a few minutes.
With this note, I’m planting these seeds of love for them to grow and to be harvested by those who read. Each deep breath waters the roots and they get the slightest bit stronger each time. And that pleasant feeling filling the back of your mind? Bring it forward. Let it curl the corners of your mouth and release the shoulder tension you’ve been holding all day.
I’m here to tell you that you’re radiant. You’re alive and beautiful and learning and growing every single day, just like every other person on the planet. Think about the simplicity of this one moment, of this one breath, this one paragraph. Let it fill your attention like a cool washcloth on the back of your neck: relaxing yet energizing.
One more deep cycle. Ready?

Delectable. Simple. Essential.
Look honeybee, taking time out of our day to check-in, center, and love on ourselves is vital. With the COVD-19 mess, hate crimes, degenerates failing to lead the country, global climate crises, and every other draining thing that demands your energy on a daily basis, a moment away from it all will serve you well. It doesn’t take much.
Say this aloud before we go:
“I am here and I am loved.”
Marvelous, my dear, marvelous.
Until next time,
HMC
