Blue House Project Series: 2, Dreams & Schemes
Progress, baby, progress!
Although there’s still much, MUCH to be done, some of the most fun with big projects comes from the dreaming and scheming in the beginning. Granted, a lot of these plans will change as we start getting into the weeds and deets, but as of the last couple weeks, playing around with big ideas has brought its own gratification.
Up until recently I had ideas that I sketched on pen and paper and described verbally. THEN Alexis came in and swept us off our non-architect-feet, we were pretty floored with how it looks mocked up all nice and realistic-like. ;)
One thing about this project that I’ve wanted to establish at the beginning is making it something to gather around. This house is so unique and so special that it would be doing it a disservice to hide it away as it’s been the past near-decade. Using it as not only as a personal project (and let’s be real, a wholesome distraction from the fact that we’re still in a global pandemic and that going out to socialize isn’t really a thing ATM) but also a way to bring those I love together over something we will all enjoy. It’s brought a new type of relationship with my dad, my friends, and my other family members. I want the (finished) space to be shared with my loved ones and what better way to start that than to have them part of the fun from the beginning?

Check out the second video entry of the Blue House Project Series below! We have a look around the house as it currently sits, go on errands to check out some materials, measure out some chunks of space, and pull it together on a fancy schmancy rendering platform.
